Herbert A Applebaum and Lenore Bellin Memorial Awards
The Applebaum (for males) and Bellin (for females) Memorial Awards recognize high school seniors who have established outstanding leadership in the Sidney Albert Albany Jewish Community Center, synagogue, school and/or community. Herbert Applebaum and Lenore Bellin were both active members of the Albany JCC who passed away at the age of 19.
Criteria
- Leadership and Involvement in an Albany Jewish youth organization and/or synagogue
- Involvement at the Albany JCC
- Involvement in High School activities (Hebrew or secular)
- Volunteer programs
- Employment experience
- For consideration, an individual must fill out an application. The application will include a brief synopsis of why s/he should be considered for the award and should review all pertinent accomplishments and involvements.

All applicable materials must be received by the last Monday in December for consideration. Winners receive a scholarship check from the Albany JCC and will be honored at the Annual JCC Pillars Award Ceremony in April/May.
