A Defining Moment for Our Community
The Sidney Albert Albany JCC is more than a building or collection of programs. As Jewish communities seek strength within and connection beyond, the JCC offers something unique and essential: a place where Jewish life is visible, welcoming, and deeply woven into the broader community. Our Rooted Here Campaign will ensure the JCC continues to be the place where people come together, and relationships grow.
A recent $5 million investment from New York State creates a once-in-a-generation opportunity to reclaim the JCC’s role as our central hub and sustain the only Jewish institution serving individuals and families of all backgrounds and life stages.
With your support, we will create modern, welcoming spaces, expanded wellness offerings, and dedicated environments for seniors, teens, and families. Our reimagined JCC will bring people together, strengthen Jewish life, and foster connection across generations, remaining vibrant, relevant, and essential for the next century.
The Sidney Albert Albany JCC has shaped lives for generations.
Now it is our turn to shape its future.
This is our moment. Join us.
Center for Lifelong Learning & Engagement
The Center for Lifelong Learning & Engagement will
bring together programs for older adults, including a new technology center and updated, flexible classrooms, creating more opportunities for learning, connection, and engagement while
expanding both the ages we serve and the programs we offer.
Center for Health & Wellness
The Center for Health & Wellness will feature expanded
fitness areas and modernized locker rooms that support healthy living, foster friendships, and strengthen the sense of community that has long distinguished the Albany JCC.
Center for Youth Leadership
The Center
for Youth Leadership will provide a dedicated home for teens to learn, gather, and build lasting relationships. Flexible spaces for leadership programs, social connection, and
informal gathering will strengthen the JCC's role as a place where young people develop confidence, community, and a lifelong connection to Jewish life.
Center for Community Life
The Center for Community
Life, including an updated Community Hall, kosher kitchen, and outdoor café, will become the heart of the JCC. Designed for celebrations, conversations, community events, and
everyday gatherings, it will create the spaces where relationships deepen, traditions are shared, and community comes to life.
